Louder Than Bombs are four guys from the Hollywood Film and TV biz who decided to put together a band with the intention of approaching the Smiths' material as if they were a theater group putting on an O'Neill play. That is, they are not a 'tribute band' in the traditional sense in that they don't imitate the band but rather interpret and perform the material. The music of the Smiths is the perfect choice. The brilliant manner in which Marr and Morrissey wed the dramatic, the humorous, the happy, the sad, the romantic and the cynical has always been an influence on whatever these artists have done.

Louder Than Bombs are based in Los Angeles and can be seen on a regular basis in the various clubs around town. Their last couple of shows at the Joint and Spaceland saw a massive celebrity presence including Vincent Gallo, Eliza Dushku (Faith on Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Amy Smart, Scott Litt (REM producer), Barrett Worland (Children of the Living Dead), Renee Zellweger, Shalom Harlow, Jack Black, Kevin J. O'Connor, John Hannah, Jose Zuniga, Aimee Mann, Brandon Williams, Skye Edwards (Morcheeba), Vicki Peterson (The Bangles), Tricky, and Billy Crudup.
